Team Brioni takes the
Trophy - 24th Cartier Snow Polo

Over 22,000 spectators gathered in the mid-winter sun to take part in the 24th Cartier Polo on Snow, probably the world's coolest polo tournament and held on the frozen Lake St. Moritz at the end of every January. Three days of high goal polo amid stunning weather resulted in a second win for Team Brioni, (featuring players Guy Schwarzenbach, Nacho Gonzalez, John Paul Clarkin, and Johnny Good) against top rated Team Cartier.

The tournament features highly on the global social calendar with a list of top-flight supporters including Maybach, Bank Julius Bär, lead sponsor Cartier and Brioni. Nothing beats the opulence of the Cartier tent, but Nespresso serves up a jolt of hospitality from a dedicated spot, and local hotel partners provide a mix of Swiss foods, gluhwein, and in this year, a Cuban themed music spot on the grounds.

However, the action is never far from the field: this form of polo features some of the world's best players in uniquely challenging conditions, where accuracy and precision are challenged by pressing realities - ranging at times from wind blown snow to the inherent difficulties of knocking an over-sized orange ball with a mallet down the length of an icy frozen lake.

At night the action moves to Badrutt's Palace and the St. Moritz Polo Club's fabulous gala dinner, which this year featured a sprinkling of glamour in the form of St. Moritz society in ever larger bling, led by the ever dashing Mr. & Mrs. Guy Schwarzenbach, Monica Bellucci and Gunter Sachs.

As the event continues to grow so does Hub Culture's involvement, with dozens of guests stretching from Hong Kong to New York converging at the tournament. Hub was again a partner in the Polo, featuring for the first time the Hub Culture Snow Cabanas, a pitch-side lounge for Hub Culture members and their pals running over the course of the weekend.

Made possible by Il Senso del Lusso, the luxury fair happening in Parma, Italy this summer, the Cabanas featured a fresh, organic feel, cutting edge tunes, and served as a social meeting spot for Hub Culture friends like Wally Ski and Private Office.

Friends of hub including Amie Hibbard, Philippe Marmayou, Tine Willumsen, Heide Marie Svehla, Rob Hersov, Diane Alvarez, Myriam Soto, Guenther Strenn, Marc Boeder, Jan-Pieter Maarschalk, Moritz Popp, Nicole Heyermann and Angel Brando also put in an appearance.
