Whitechapel Gallery Art Plus Opera Party

The Whitechapel Gallery’s Art Plus Opera Party is a marvelous one-of-a-kind event always supported by Hub Culture. Whitechapel Gallery Director Iwona Blazwick OBE with Member of Swarovski¹s Executive Board Nadja Swarovski, and Art Plus Chair Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst invite you to support an exceptional evening of art, opera and live performance.

The Gallery is transported into the style and spirit of the 1920s, featuring performances by the Royal Opera Chorus and an auction of works by major contemporary artists led by Sotheby¹s.

With oyster bar, fizz and vintage cocktails, Italian menu by Angela Hartnett with Smart Hospitality, followed by DJs and dancing into the night.

Raising funds for the Whitechapel Gallery¹s Education Programme working with thousands of children and diverse community groups.

The evening includes an auction led by Oliver Barker, Sotheby’s, including artworks by Darren Almond, Vija Celmins, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Martin Creed, Mona Hatoum, Cristina Iglesias, Alan Kane, Gabriel Kuri, Gabriel Orozco and Franz West.

Art Plus is an on-going series which explores the dynamic fusion of the visual arts with other mediums including drama, dance, film or music - culminating each year in a one-night only, unforgettable party and performance event.
